Amaravati: Auspicious time for Foundation stone laying ceremony for Andhra pradesh temporary secretariat in Amaravati will be on February 12 at 4.15 am said minister Narayana speaking to media on Thursday. Construction would accommodate 6700 employees in G+1 structures. L&T and Shapoorji pallonji & co has filed their bids for construction of Andhra pradesh temporary secretariat. Government plans to complete the construction in rapid pace and Government offices and secretariat would be moved to by end of June. AP Govt has offered compensation of 2% if completed by 4 months, 1% if completed by 5 months. Deadline of 6 months was set for construction of temporary secretariat and successful bidders would be fined 10% if its not completed on time.

Tender process will be completed by 10th of this month for construction of these buildings. Government plans to announce plan of action for movement of Andhra secretariat and other departments.

Chief Minister Chandrababu naidu made it clear to the employees that movement of secretariat to Amaravati is compulsory and delay will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Government has planned to move secretariat to medha towers in gannavaram and government offices to private buildings earlier. De-notification process of IT SEZ has been started. As government has decided all the departments offices and secretariat to be located near amaravati, it plans to build six buldings with six lakh square feet area in G+1 structures.

Temporary secretariat can accommodate up to six thousand employees. so govt plans to move CM’s and minister offices along with department offices to the new building.

It is estimated that the temporary secretariat will be completed within six months. To be built in an area of six lakh square feet it will cost Rs 180 crore.

The temporary secretariat will come up in Velagapudi, one of the capital notified villages. It is located about 15 km from Vijayawada.

Companies like L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji and others have started bidding for construction.
