Amaravati: Guntur district collector Kanthilal Dande on Tuesday issued notification for land acquisition in Nekkallu village of Thullur mandal, under the Land Acquisition Act-2013. The State government is planning to acquire 82.705 acres of land from 43 farmers in the village.
It may be recalled that the farmers of Nekkallu refused to give away their lands for capital establishment under Land Pooling Scheme (LPS). The government, for the past few weeks, heeded the process of land acquisition, under which the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) is planning to acquire 2,400 acres of farm land in 29 villages, where the farmers opposed the LPS, in the capital region.
While the land acquisition notification had been issued in a majority of villages, 43 farmers in Nekkallu are likely to lose their lands to the fresh LA notification.
According to deputy collector BL Kesava Rao, the revenue officials will conduct a survey of land wherein the farmers or their representatives would have to appear. If they don’t appear before the revenue officials, the latter would conduct the land survey without their presence.
In view of the LA notification, the farmers don’t have right to sell/purchase or take loans on the lands. They can submit their objections, if any, to the revenue officials. After receiving the objections, special deputy collectors and land acquisition officers will conduct an inquiry at the APCRDA Unit 17 office in Nekkallu on April 24. The government will also pay compensation to the farmers without fail.
