Amaravati: In what could cheer sports lovers in Andhra Pradesh, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Group is setting up three sports arenas in Amaravati.

Stating this here on Thursday, IT minister Nara Lokesh said the government will extend all help to Reliance in establishing the sports arenas. During a meeting, he urged representatives of Reliance Foundation to speed up the process so that enthusiastic sports lovers will benefit.

The representatives said they will work out fine details on the project very soon and present them to the government. Lokesh wanted the foundation to extend support in using the latest technology in agriculture. Sources said Ambani may visit Vijayawada soon and meet CM Chandrababu Naidu. He is also likely to open Chandranna mall in the city.

Meanwhile, Japanese firm Kuni Umi Asset Management Company Ltd has expressed interest in setting up a movable pavilion in the vicinity of the secretariat at Velagapudi. The company has extended an invitation to Lokesh to attend a meeting of various stakeholders in Japan on the next generation auto electrical vehicles.

In a related development, Honeywell company has proposed to set up a centre of excellence in the capital.
